Faculty and students in the program combine molecular, genetic, genomic and computational approaches to explore fundamental questions in a diversity of fields including cell, developmental and systems biology as well as cancer genetics and human disease. Recent research carried out by members of the program include identifying human disease genes through studying model organisms and associating the presence of specific microbes in the human gut with obesity.
