Recognizing the need for highly trained scientists conversant across disciplines, the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center have collaborated to create an interdisciplinary research program, the Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program (MCB). For more than 15 years, MCB has combined the strengths of the FHCRC together with the ten top UW departments --from Biochemistry to Pharmacology-- in order to foster an innovative and flexible education-training program for graduate students interested in biomedical problems that cross disciplinary boundaries.
