The graduate program in Neuroscience leads to the Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences. The faculty consists of members of the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy (Medical School) and the University of Texas Mental Science Institute, as well as neuroscientists in the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Integrative Biology and Pharmacology, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (Medical School). The faculty of the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy includes four major subdivisions (molecular, cellular, computations and structural). Within these four major groups, there is a main focus on neuronal plasticity and learning and memory.
