The UT-Houston Medical School, committed to educating physicians for medical practice, has consistently rated among the top 15 U.S. medical schools inthe number of graduates entering the primary care areas of family practice, general pediatrics and general internal medicine. The School has the State's firstfamily residency program which focuses on the under-served urban population.
The School's five basic science and 16 clinical departments provide students with a broad base of expertise which enables them to translate researchexperience into clinical practice. A new Problem-Based Learning curriculum builds upon linkages between the basic and clinical sciences and incorporates theconsideration of medical ethics within complex medical problems.
