Music is offered at the University of North Dakota in the belief that it contributes to the aesthetic development of humankind. The UND Music Department seeks to provide a multi-faceted environment of excellence in which students and faculty realize their full potential as musicians and scholars. As a learning community, we value mutual respect and cooperation and we acknowledge local roots and a global perspective. The Music Department offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Music degree with specializations in Music Education, Performance, Pedagogy, Composition, Choral Conducting, Instrumental Conducting, and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Music Education. The department is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
