The Department of Aviation in the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at UND offers a graduate program leading to the Master of Science in Aviation. This degree provides the necessary educational background for aviation industry professionals to solve problems within the field or aviation including airlines, corporate aviation, general aviation, and airport management. Graduates will gain an understanding of the various complexities facing the industry though a breadth of aviation industry related courses. In addition, graduates will gain an understanding of statistics and research methods, and how they may be applied to research and solve problems within the aviation industry. The graduate program will provide the graduates with the knowledge and skill that prepare them for aviation industry, aviation related government jobs, and for further research and development in the field of aviation. The aviation master's degree is built on one of the strongest collegiate aviation programs in the country and was developed with help from industry leaders who helped shape the curriculum. Firsthand knowledge in each and every field in the aerospace industry, coupled with a professional, innovative and caring approach to teaching, sets UND faculty apart. The program is normally completed in two to three years. Students from anywhere in the world can earn a UND graduate degree in aviation. One of only a few aviation-related graduate programs in the United States, UND's program offers an interactive distance learning component. This allows students to pursue an advanced aviation degree without leaving their jobs or disrupting their lives.
