TCD provides students with opportunities for study and research focused on the creation, production, distribution, performance, and disposal of apparel and textile products. TCD offers areas of emphasis in apparel design, textile art, merchandising, international trade, consumer behavior, costume and textile history, and textile science. Students may select a generalized or more specialized program of study with supporting disciplinary work from art, anthropology, business, chemistry, museum studies, sociology, or theater costume, among others. In consultation with a faculty advisor, each student plans an individualized course of study linking background interests with the research interests of departmental faculty.
