The School Psychology program provides courses, training experiences and supervision which permit the student to develop the skills necessary to effectively apply psychological and educational knowledge and techniques in school settings. A widely accepted model of the school psychologist role in schools is used which emphasizes collaborative consultation, psychoeducational evaluation, counseling, educational intervention, behavioral intervention and applied research skills. Two years of coursework are required in these areas including three semesters of practicum in preschool and school settings and a semester of counseling practicum.
