Whether you desire to work in academia or industry, agriculture or medicine, the Biochemistry Department at the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) offers you challenging training that will help you achieve your goals. The Biochemistry Department is highly ranked by the National Academy of Sciences and was cited as the top science program at MU. A graduate student in the Biochemistry Department at MU can select from many areas of specialization, due to the multidisciplinary research of our more than 30 faculty. Our program emphasizes training in research and is closely interwoven with the scholarly activities of the faculty. Our faculty comprise an integral part of a campus-wide network of research programs in molecular biology, plant biochemistry, genetics, medicine, nutrition and animal sciences.
