The University of Kansas Medical Center instituted the "Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in BiomedicalSciences" (IGPBS) in the Fall on 1997. Applicants to all basic science departments are admitted through this program and take an interdisciplinary core curriculum during year one. At the beginning of year two, students will select a mentor, enter a department and receive their degree through that department. Students admitted into the IGPBS program will receive financial assistance through our GTA program. This financial package of $20,000 direct funds to the student plus a tuition waiver equal to about $2500.
