New students can look forward to personal development in an atmosphere that fosters strong collaborative activities as well as independent scholarship.The Department's research programs and faculty place it at the leading edge of research in the pharmacological/toxicological sciences. In addition to receiving strong training in modern pharmacology and toxicology, students are encouraged to use the expertise and courses available in the Departments of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology; Medicinal Chemistry; and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The University has strong programs in neurobiology, molecular genetics, and bioanalytical chemistry.
