The Department of Physiology and Biophysics offers a program of graduate study leading to the Doctor of Philosophy degree. The major goals of the program are to impart fundamental knowledge of physiological processes at molecular, cellular and integrative levels and gain experience in modern research strategies and skills applicable to contemporary problems of physiology and biophysics. The principal areas of research interest in the department are endocrinology, neurobiology, and membrane physiology and biophysics, with the unifying theme of understanding mechanisms of signal transduction involved in regulation of function atthe cellular and molecular levels.
