Child, Family, and School Psychology (CFSP) students are accepted into one of three degree programs: (1) a one- to two-year Masters degree (M.A.) in early childhood development, (2) a four-year Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology, with the possibility of obtaining an additional Early Childhood School Psychology Certificate, or (3) a Doctorate program (Ph.D.), one doctorate track is a six year School Psychology Licensure program the other is a five year non-licensure Child and Family Leadership program. All CFSP degree programs involve innovative, integrative, closely supervised practice requirements that begin the first year. CFSP graduates have expanded career opportunities within a broad range of educational, medical, research, or treatment-oriented service systems at the local, state and national levels. In addition, doctoral students are prepared for administrative, supervisory, teaching and research positions in institutions of higher learning.CFSP students have multiple opportunities to engage in collaborative innovative practice and research projects that offer more in-depth expertise and exposure to critical issues in the field. We also support the development of individual research interests through strong faculty mentoring and advising that builds relationships and facilitates high professional expectations and expertise. Students are encouraged to participate in professional research, advocacy, and service at local, state, national or international levels for the benefit of the families, children, and youth.
