The interdisciplinary program in cell and developmental biology provides students with an integrated curriculum emphasizing major approaches employed in biomedical basic research. Courses cover the main areas of scientific inquiry in cell and developmental biology and highlight the techniques used to address fundamental questions. Research opportunities are offered in cell biology, developmental biology, molecular biology, neurobiology, and human disease research. The broad, integrated nature of the program allows students to choose from a range of dissertation topics, thus distinguishing the program from more traditional and specialized approaches to graduate training.
