The interdepartmental Molecular Biology Program is a student-centered program with a faculty that shares an interest in conducting research on basic principles of molecular biology. The aim of the program is to provide students with the best training in the field of molecular biology in order to perform the highest quality research using state-of-the-art techniques. In addition to research, an excellent seminar series in which students, faculty, and invited guest speakers present their most recent research, annual scientific retreat, journal club and advanced topics courses in molecular biology are integral parts of this training. The program is supported by a NIH Training Grant, and applications from URMs (underrepresented minority students ) are encouraged.
