The Department of Pathology provides training in experimental pathology for individuals with a baccalaureate, medical, or other advanced degree. The program is designed to bridge the fields of cellular and molecular biology,biochemistry, immunology, and pathology. Graduates of the program appreciate and understand disease processes at all levels and can investigate basic biological processes with the most modern research techniques. The program also involves opportunities for specialization in the areas of experimentaloncology; biochemical and tumor virology; molecular, cellular and reproductive biology; oncogenes; growth factors; mechanism of hormone action; blood coagulation; ultrastructure, and the cellular basis of immunity.
