The Charles Lee Powell Structural Systems Laboratory, the Center for Magnetic Recording Research, the Institute for Nonlinear Science and the San Diego Super Computer are examples of the superiority of facilities for engineering research at UCSD. The School of Engineering boasts extensive and aggressive efforts to enhance graduate education by virtue of an expanding relationship with the private sector. The two major engineering buildings, the largest on campus, are also among the newest additions to the campus landscape and include the latest technology available to research facilities.
