Our research group includes over 80 faculty and is distinctive in offering opportunities to work with microbial, plant, and animal model systems. Our faculty sponsor research programs in basic, applied, medical, and agriculture sciences. In addition, we offer students a broad range of graduate courses in cell, molecular, and developmental biology that can be combined to fit the interest of each individual student. Our campus has excellent research facilities including a state-of-the-art electron microscopy center, two centers for state-of-the-art light micro copy, a center for bioinformatics, a genomics institute with facilities for nucleotide and peptide synthesis, cell transformations, making and analyzing microarrays, real-time PCR, mass spectrometry,and a sophisticated computer visualization center.
