Designed as a two-year program, the AREC M.S. degree provides rigorous academic preparation for students wishing to continue on to Ph.D. programs. It is also an excellent terminal degree due to the programÆs emphasis on application to solving real world problems as demonstrated by our graduates having been well placed in industry, consulting, and government.

The program includes a solid foundation in econometrics, applied econometrics, production economics, and consumer economics and price analysis with electives selected by the student based on his or her research interests and faculty advisor guidance. The masterÆs program is enriched by the varied research interests of the faculty and by the faculty/student interactivity.

The Ph.D. program in collaboration with the Economics Department offers a minor degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics to prepare students for faculty positions in colleges and universities and for senior level research positions in government and private industry.
