The Department of Civil Engineering offers programs leading to the Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Master of Environmental Engineering, Master of Science in Environmental Technology Management, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Research is conducted within the traditional core areas of structural, geotechnical, transportation, environmental, and water resources engineering. However, graduate students have opportunities for more specialized degree paths in such areas as wind engineering, glass research, disaster mitigation, and geoenvironmental engineering. These programs are designed to produce graduates who are attuned to the needs of society, who possess professional competence and judgment, and who have the personal attributes that will help them to become leaders in their career fields.
