Student's interested in pursuing a Master of Education degree in Bilingual Education may choose either a 36-hour non-thesis plan or 30-hour plan with a thesis. Students may also choose to work towards a joint master's degree with the Universidad de Las Americas (UDLA) - Puebla, Mexico; sister university to Texas Tech University. Students choosing this master's plan must take approximately four classes at UDLA. TTU faculty teach two classes in Puebla every summer. Both Master programs have flexibility allowing students to emphasize areas of interest.

Texas Tech offers a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Students wishing to work towards a Doctorate in C and I with an emphasis on Bilingual education can design a program around a College of Education required 18-hour research core. Students are trained in both qualitative and quantitative methodology The research core and research methodology training provides students with the expertise to complete a dissertation of high quality, original research.
