Graduate students have a unique opportunity to become aware of important research in many areas of natural resource management and be exposed to the concepts of teamwork and cooperative research. Course work that is required of graduate students is designed to enhance the student's ability to conduct research within a specific area of interest and increase professional communication skills. Research has been an important emphasis in the Department since its inception. The Department has distinguished itself for research on the management of natural ecosystems for livestock production and wildlife conservation.
