The M.L.A. provides the flexibility to meet a variety of professional interests such as universal design, therapeutic landscape design, land use and regional planning, geographic information systems, and cultural landscape design.

The Doctorate of Land-Use Planning, Management, and Design is administered by the College of Architecture with faculty and courses from other areas in the University. It is designed to provide training in facets of land use, with special emphasis on nonurban lands and those in arid and semi-arid environments.
