The Master of Science in Mathematics prepares graduates for positions in industry, teaching, or doctoral programs. The primary purpose of the PhD program in Computational Science and Statistics is to produce PhD-level researchers trained to integrate computational and statistical methodiologies to formulate, model, analyze, and solve research problems of interest to the natural and physical sciences, including biology, chemistry, physics, and medicine. The research portion of the program will be multidisciplinary, collaborative studies in areas such as bioinformatics and epidemiology.
