Specifically, its goals are to train future psychologists in the core knowledge areas of the discipline and to prepare them to provide empirically supported assessment, intervention, and consultation services across a full range of populations, settings, and formats.   The Ph.D. program in clinical psychology is based on scientist-practitioner model.
