The mission of the Teacher Education Program at Pacific Oaks College is to prepare professional educators who understand diversity, are grounded in human development, and value children. We provide preparation programs that are based on constructionist approaches to education. Our credential programs may be combined with the Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Development. We offer the preliminary California Multiple Subject English Learner Teaching Credential that prepares a student to teach in California's diverse classrooms. This program can be completed in a self-paced, intensive or intern format. We also offer the California Education Specialist Credential in Mild to Moderate Disabilities, which certifies you to teach students with mild to moderate learning, behavioral and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings in either a public or private school. The Preliminary Level I Education Specialist Credential can be completed in five to seven semesters. The Professional Level II program must be completed in within five years of the Level I credential.
