The Department of Agronomy officially changed its name on Sept. 11, 1997, to the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences. The Department offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Science degree in Agronomy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Crop Science or Soil Science. For students desiring broader training in production agriculture, the Master of Agriculture degree is offered. The Department also offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Science with an Agronomy Option, and a Ph.D. in Plant Science with an Agronomy Option.
