This program is designed for practicing emergency services professionals or those aspiring to serve in that capacity. The curriculum builds solid foundations in administration and practice for those who will manage the operations of fire and emergency management organizations. Through studies of organizations, budgeting, the policy process, labor management, and special fire and emergency management topics, the program prepares, and then requires, participants to demonstrate core competencies in directing an emergency service agency. Traditional public management concepts are applied with an emphasis on managing fire and emergency management organizations and the unique functions inherent in these disciplines.
