MA Transpersonal Counseling Psychology: Wilderness Therapy
On Campus

In the first year of the Wilderness Therapy concentration of the MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, students study the theoretical foundations of transpersonal counseling psychology, wilderness therapy and a variety of counseling skills. Second-year classes are woven through a series of intensives, primarily in outdoor and wilderness settings, integrating therapeutic practice with environmental awareness and outdoor skills. The third year, students complete an internship in a wilderness therapy setting.

The degree synthesizes clinical and theoretical course work in counseling psychology, contemplative practice, adventure therapy and ecopsychology and prepares students to become professional counselors with the skills and knowledge needed to work in wilderness or traditional clinical settings. Prepares graduates for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential.
