The program focuses on painting, ceramics, sculpture (including installation), photography, intermedia, video, and electronic arts. Students are encouraged to work across media boundaries. The two-year graduate program is selective, limited to 12 new students each year, and is designed to meet the demanding standards of the profession. The size of the graduate program enables the faculty to work directly with each degree candidate. In addition to this individual attention, graduate students in studio art also enjoy spacious, private studios with 24/7 access during the entire two years of their program. The MFA program culminates in a thesis exhibition of student work in the Mills College Art Museum, open to art critics, gallery owners, and the general public.     Accreditation Information: Western Association of Schools and Colleges  # Of Credits Required:   Time To Degree:     Previous Degrees Admission to graduate or post-baccalaureate study at Mills College is contingent upon the possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. If you are still completing your degree at the time of application, send official transcripts showing work completed and in progress.  Pre-Requisite Courses International Student Requirements International students whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language examination (TOEFL). Graduate admission to our programs in English and Computer Science require a minimum TOEFL score of 600 for the paper exam, or 250 for the computer-based exam. All other programs require a minimum TOEFL score of 550 for the paper exam, or 213 for the computer-based exam. We will need two copies of official English translation transcripts as well as two copies of the transcripts in the native language of your undergraduate and graduate work, showing a strong academic record.
