The Psychometrics and Applied Individual Differences (PAID) program is designed to equip students with the conceptual and methodological tools for conducting meaningful psychological research in a variety of basic and applied settings. The program is based on the philosophy that assessing individual differences in human behavior is critical for understanding not only how people respond to contrasting environments, but also to experimental manipulations. Particular attention is devoted to behaviors deemed by society and social scientists as having social utility. Thus, assessment and evaluation of personal attributes contributing to the understanding of academic and work behaviors (across educational and industrial settings) and clinical/psychopathological phenomena are of particular interest to the faculty in PAID.
