Cognitive psychology is an active and growing area of study at Colorado State University. Comprised of a relatively small and interactive group, the program allows for highly individualized graduate education, close collaboration with faculty, and frequent formal and informal interaction with faculty and peers. At the same, the program benefits from the facilities, resources, and diversity of a large and thriving department at a Carnegie Foundation level-one research institute. The Graduate Program in Cognitive Psychology is administeredaccording to a mentorship model. New students are matched with a specific faculty member according to area of interest and by mutual consent of the student and faculty member. At the present time, the core faculty in the Cognitive Psychology Program have active research programs in human performance and skill acquisition, human learning and memory, concept learning and conceptual representation, visual attention and cognition, as well as the cognitive neuroscience of learning and memory.
