The Department of Biological Science is one of five departments in the School of Natural Science and Mathematics. Other Departments include Chemistry and Biochemistry, Physics, Geology, and Mathematics. The graduate degree awarded by the Department is the Master of Arts in Biology. This degree requires the completion of a research thesis; no other routes (e.g. examination, project) to the Master of Arts degree are offered by the Department. Although the official degree is given in Biology, students take their course work and perform their thesis research in a specific field of study.
