On Campus   One of the major themes of the Biology Division is developmental biology-that is, understanding how the genetic information contained in the maternal and paternal genes of a simple fertilized egg programs thedevelopment of a beautifully organized complex organism. This research uses many different organisms: human beings, mice, fruit flies, sea urchins, frogs, nematodes, and yeast, each with specific advantages for one part of the problem.
