The Molecular and Integrative Biosciences track at EVMS provides inclusive, cutting-edge training in molecular, cellular and integrative biomedical sciences. Students initially complete lecture and laboratory courses spanning the biomedical sciences. Students choose a research laboratory and a specific research area, which is complemented by advanced courses. Under the guidance of selected graduate faculty, the student receives extensive mentoring from a faculty advisor in the area of specialization, culminating in a dissertation project. Areas of research strength include cancer, infectious diseases, immunology, cardiovascular and reproductive physiology, diabetes, obesity and neuroscience. Our graduates are well prepared to translate current findings in basic sciences to application in medical treatment.
