Media ethics, media and religion, public relations, documentary methodology and feature writing are strong areas at Baylor. Students may elect either a traditional master's thesis or an extensive, applied master's project. The Master of International Journalism combines theory and practice to prepare its graduates for mastery in the field of international journalism. Students graduate with the ability to critically examine mass media from a scholarly perspective as well as with real-world experience gained through a 6-credit international internship. Small classes and a caring faculty make Baylor a unique opportunity for students looking for media careers.     Accreditation Information:   # Of Credits Required:   Time To Degree:     Previous Degrees Applicants must have a 4-year baccalaureate degree or a 3-year international degree plus an international graduate degree to apply.  Pre-Requisite Courses If students do not have either an undergraduate degree in or work experience in journalism or mass communication, they will have to demonstrate competency in journalism skills through leveling coursework or exams.  International Student Requirements The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. Applicants must attain a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 80 on the internet-based test.  Requirements Qualifying Exam: GRE Minimum Exam Score: GPA or Equivalent: English Proficiency: Yes Research Competency: No Clinical Internship: No   Work Experience Work experience in journalism/public relations will be taken into account when considering students for graduate funding.  Volunteer Experience Publications Experience Foreign Language Requirement Master of International Journalism students must demonstrate intermediate proficiency in a language other than English prior to the internship.
