Students can design a course of study that allows them to upgrade current skills, or they can explore a new facet of chemistry. An M.S. degree in chemistry prepares graduate students for careers in various areas of research, development, education, and administration, or for further study at the doctoral level. The thesis requirement expands laboratory skills to give students better preparation for entry into the job market.
